Tai on tithing and the one campaign
Giving has always been a contentuous issue for Christians, and whenever a band sticks their neck out for having an opinion they are often attacked for doing so. However, Tai Anderson, the bass player for the US Rock Band Third Day, did just that in a recent blog post on the official Third Day Wired blog on thirdday.com.
A lot of what Tai talks about in his post is most relevant to their US fanbase, but the message should be taken as seriously here in the UK. The challenge is to follow our convictions and to tithe both personally and nationally - even in the face of a recession.
Tai asks us the question: Am I treating money as if it belongs to God and he allows me to keep 90%, or do I treat it like it’s mine and if God’s lucky, I’ll give him 10%, after taxes of course!
It was a brave move that should be applauded - read the article in full on the official Third Day site here: http://www.thirdday.com/blogs/wired/tai-andersons-comments-one-campaign
