Third Day fans start mission trip to India
Nigel James, Third Day's Tour Pastor, has been in India for a week with a team from Cardiff, and Jamie, a fan from Phoenix who was so eager that came a week early and sacrificed his planned holiday to Europe. Yesterday they were joined by another two huge Third Day fans, Meghan and Melissa who will accompany them in Rajahmundry for the next week.
The trip is to the Come Together Compound in Rajahmundry, a plot of land which was paid for by the band a few years ago and is now the home of the Gateway School and a brand new Children's home.
The team are staying with Pastor Prasad, the leader of Gateway ministries in India, who run the work on the compound, as well as working with youth and church building in the region.
Over the next few days, the team will be spending time checking out the Gateway School and the brand new Gateway Children's Home, as well as visiting various Ignite India churches.
Third Day very generously helped purchase the land, pay for the completion of the school, a school bus, and funded teachers salaries for the first 3 years of the school's life.
A couple of the Ignite India churches that the team will be visiting were constructed from generous donations given at concerts at Third Day concerts in the UK during 2007 and 2009.
